The recital at St Margaret’s on the Friday before Passion Sunday (April 4^th) comprises a programme of music suitable for Lent and Passiontide, mostly based on hymn-tunes. Composers include two called A. Gray (Alan and Anthony), Bach, Leighton and Whitlock, Rathbone (that’s me), and Trevor Widdicombe. All is gentle and prayerful, apart perhaps from the final piece by Whitlock based on the Agincourt Song! Free entry with a retiring collection for St Margaret’s Organ Restoration Fund. All are welcome. Christopher Rathbone, Director of Music.
