Retail development planned for former banking hall on Manchester Road

A FORMER Lloyds Bank banking hall on Manchester Road could be converted into a retail development if new plans are approved.

The vacant unit – 770 Manchester Road, is the subject of a planning application that was submitted to Bradford Council shortly before Christmas.

The application, submitted by Javaid Bostan, is to sub divide the building to create three new shops – one 37 square metres, one 43 square metres and one 44.9 square metres.

Each shop would also have storage space on the first floor area – which currently has planning use as an apartment.

The bank building is on one of the busiest routes into and out of the city centre.

A decision on the application is expected in February.
