THE WORLD’S BEST-SELLING VIOLINIST TO PLAY BRADFORD CITY HALL ON THURSDAY 8TH OCTOBER AS PART OF HIS FIRST LARGE SCALE UK TOUR IN OVER FITEEN YEARS
Violin legend, Nigel Kennedy will be playing in Bradford as part of his acclaimed “VIRTUOSO” tour, Kennedy’s first large-scale UK tour in over 15 years.
Kennedy’s ‘Virtuoso Concert Performance’ will visit the Bradford City Hall on Thursday 8th October.
Kennedy, who became a household name with his 1989 recording of Vivaldi’s ‘The Four Seasons’, said he was looking forward to playing to audiences beyond the capital: last year he sold out the London Royal Festival Hall and in February this year, completed a sold-out run at the famous Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in Soho.
But now he is performing shows in towns and cities across the UK – some of which he hasn’t visited for over twenty years, as his career as the world’s biggest-selling violinist has taken him all over the world.
Kennedy said:
“Obviously I love London (and Birmingham) but there’s a different vibe about places with maybe 40,000 people in the town itself. The audience are what makes a concert special… it is a team collaboration and music is an inspiration for bringing people together.”
“One of the most important violinists Britain has ever produced”
THE GUARDIAN
Nigel Kennedy has promised an evening that reflects his love of a unified approach to all music. Audiences can expect a thrilling set ranging from Nigel’s classical ‘The Four Seasons’ to Gershwin’s ‘The Man I Love’ to Bach’s Chaconne from the Partita No.2 in D minor (1717-20)… to a truly moving and delicate version of ‘Danny Boy’.
“Nigel Kennedy remains uniquely able to open the classical music door to everyone.”
Nigel will be accompanied by long-time collaborators Alec Dankworth, son of the late John Dankworth and Cleo Laine, on double bass and the great ‘cellist Peter Adams.
Kennedy’s adventurous approach and comprehensive mastery of the violin means his concerts will, as always, go straight to the heart of the British public.
