Ian Ward won the centre manager of the year – large venue at the Sceptre Awards on September 30, in recognition of his continued leadership and contribution to the city.
The Sceptre Awards are regarded as the UK’s top honours for the shopping centre and retail destination industry, celebrating outstanding management, teams, and sustainability efforts.
Mr Ward, who has worked in retail and shopping centre management for more than 35 years, has helped shape The Broadway into a popular hub for shopping, dining, and events.
Under his leadership, the centre recorded a 2.3 per cent rise in footfall during major regeneration works, even as the wider Bradford city centre saw a 12.7 per cent decline over the same period.
His focus on accessibility and inclusion has led to projects such as an award-winning sensory room, Shopmobility provision, and improved safety measures.
Mr Ward also serves as chair of Bradford BID, supporting regeneration efforts across the city.
